Boogie at the Midnight Hour

Yes sir, this is exactly what I’m tryin’ to hear right now. Introducing The Fantasies, an upstart that coherently amalgamates genres you never thought possible. The guys jock a totally warped sensibility of ’50s style R & B / skiffle mixed in with swamp boogie, psychedelia, garage punk, and musique concrete. Their introduction to the world, the tongue-firmly-in-cheek Meet The Fantasies, is self-aware and righteously retro, while still establishing a veneer of modernism (in both senses of the term). A super swingin’ dance party for fans of reverberated and simple vintage rock and roll, the British Invasion, the classier side of punk, and Nuggets-evocative wailing at its finest, all with contemporary flair. Eyes peeled, ladies and germs – can’t wait to hear more. Keep up with them in the interim at the The Fantasies’ Blogspot.
