First Round of Acts For Cropped Out 2011 Announced!

It looks like Cropped Out is about to become an annual tradition! The unrelentingly fringe music festival returns for a second year, filling the crisp fall air with super damaged sounds and sunshine vibes. And as per Cropped Out’s general M.O., they’re setting up shop in another unusual venue, a large warehouse space simply known as The Crummy Den – at North Campbell and East Main in Butchertown (across from the original BBC Taphouse) – Friday, November 11th and Saturday, November 12th!

The highlights from the first round of artists announced include the heavy warped electric folk of MV & EE (beware of their dog, he’s mean), the mighty lovely Angel Olsen, WFMU favorites Shit & Shine, Baltimore’s noise shamans Dope Body, reclusive ex-Harry Pussy medicine man Bill Orcutt, noise pop thrashers (who came to town last month) The Men, and a slew of killer local and regional acts. More will be coming soon, including one that will raise your eyebrows and cause you to whisper a breathy ‘oh fuuuuuuuuck’ in front of your computer.

Not familiar with some of the names here? You will be soon. Remember how last year’s Cropped Out hosted acts like Julianna Barwick, Cave, and JEFF the Brotherhood, all of whom kinda blew the fuck up afterward? Maybe you regretted sleepin’ on that. Don’t let that shit happen again.

Tickets go on sale today on Ticketfly today for an early-bird price of $25 for both days, or $15 for a single day. You have until October 20th to grip ’em at that price. Physical tickets coming soon as well. More info as it becomes available… in the interim, bookmark this.
