Paint them eggs with demonic faces and ski masks because the prophet Lightning Bolt have a tent revival planned for Louisville on Easter Sunday. Earlier, Backseat Sandbar published a rumor circulating that the band is playing at… Cahoots? The Highlands-area punk bar that completely polarizes the actual punk community, bolstering opinions that range from “drug-infested hell hole” to “it’s alright and the appetizers are pretty deece”?

The rumor is true, Lightning Bolt are playing Cahoots. While the establishment has received quite a bad reputation as of late (just scope the Louisville Hardcore board), some dignitaries from the local scene have stepped in to help book regularly-scheduled, high-caliber shows, while the bar management has agreed to build a new stage and acquire a new sound system. By all accounts, it seems Cahoots is beginning to embrace its history – it sits in the building that once housed the legendary Tweligan’s - while addressing the Bardstown Road corridor’s bizarre lack of traditional music venues in the process.

But even if Cahoots were not revamping, if you’ve seen Lightning Bolt’s documentary The Power of Salad, it would totally make sense that they’d play there anyhow. And it would work! The Lightning Bolt band is the best band.

Excellent local garage psych warriors Natives open the doors to the sermon, along with local decibel shredders Straight A’s for an evening of exalting on high. All this and more organized by OK Productions (thanks bros!) for only five bones! THAT’S BANANAS!

Considering the, shall we say, resurrection of this once great locale, is it any coincidence the show is on Easter?
