I have seen Caribou twice in two very different settings. The first time was at Chicago’s Metro with Battles. Caribou performed full band in front of a giant visual projection with insanely saturated, pulsating colors and hypnotic images. He may be second only to Cornelius as far as the visual component is concerned. The second time was at Pitchfork Music Festival 2008, where the band made up for their early afternoon time slot with some of the most intense Boredoms-worthy drumming I’ve probably ever witnessed. The point of these anecdotes - Caribou delivers live. You want to be at this show.

Toro y Moi, Spanish for Toro AND Moi, opens. I saw him at SXSW this year. It was pretty good. I think bloggers dudes are really into him. I don’t like glo-fi for the most part, but this dude seems legit.

There are some tickets left at the door, but not many, so be sure to roll through right at 8 p.m. doors, lest you get caught lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground.
