Trish’s Mind Bending Motorway Mix and Live Archive
This was passed around the Broadcast message board yesterday afternoon:
Before she went to Australia Trish sent me a mix CD of bonkers pop music she compiled, I never thanked her. Its called Mind Bending Motorway Mix and I want to share it with you, please pass the link on, share it far and wide, its a little tribute to a (as a friend referred to her today) exhilarating woman, we’re all thinking about you James.
Sorry I don’t have a tracklist and to be honest I like it that way. I think its less about who you’re listening to on that compilation and more about the fact you are listening to something the Trish took time to select and compile for me and in turn yourselves.
It’s a remarkable mix of perfectly-segued, obscure weirdness – music as unearthly as Trish Keenan herself – revealing the sounds that Broadcast obviously drew inspiration from. While the mystery adds an undeniable layer of excitement and intrigue, I love every song on the mix and would like to know more about the artists featured here. If you recognize anything, leave a comment – or leave it a mystery. Both options are fitting.
I’m offering the download here on The Decibel Tolls so you don’t have to deal with the “Congratulations You Won!” popups and general wonkiness of Rapidshare.
Additionally, if you’re looking to collect as many documents of Broadcast that are currently available, our friend Patrick at Pretty Creatures has created an archive of every publically available live radio session and bootleg from the band, spanning from 1997 to 2009. You can find it here.
UPDATE: Ironically, after ragging on Rapidshare, my own download was corrupt. I’ve uploaded another .zip archive and it works this time. Promise.
Also, we’ve got some track titles and a stream below!
