Kranky ambient tribal dance hustler White Rainbow, Honey Owens of Valet, and the mighty Inca Ore have formed a supergroup of sorts called, shit you not, We Like Cats. That’s advanced. Between the name and the bitchin’ WordArt ®, you know they’re straight clownin’, which I can appreciate. I mean, shit, I like cats, you like cats, I guess we like cats. Well, maybe I don’t like cats, just my cat. His name is Ike, short for Dwight D. Eisenmeower. Look at this chill motherfucker:

He hasn’t been feeling well lately. Had to clean up some sick yesterday. Perhaps he got into daddy’s peyote stash. I need to do a better job of not leaving such items strewn about.

Anyway, enough about my cat – onto We Like Cats. So you’ve got these three heavy-hitters of fucked pop together to create some seriously syrupy and hazy dub – analog delay and echo, thick beats, and descending broken vocals abound. Nothing terribly groundbreaking here of course, but it’s a way fun, tongue-firmly-in-cheek summer jam for balmy afternoons from some of your favorite friends.
